C1 fracture
2.5 weeks ago had a accident and I have a C1 fracture. Wondering what healing process and prognosis is like for others that have experienced this?

Wow you are one lucky person that you are able to tell us about a C1 fracture. Unlucky that you had an accident but blessed that you are apparently stable and able to talk next steps.
So tell me about your current status .. are you in a neck brace or did you have surgery to stabilize the fracture? Like a fusion to c2?
Recovery is thought to be 8 to 12 weeks. If you aren't advised surgery, it is usual to have a rigid or soft collar.
Because there is the possiblility of non union at C1, you might ask for the help of a medication that encourages fracture healing: Forteo. It sounds as though you might not have seen a orthopedist, which I would suggest.
We can't know how stable your fracture is. A thorough exam might warn and protect your luck so far.
Best wishes.

I had ACDF surgery C5-C6 and they used hardware to secure my spine. I believe the drilling into my vertebrae is sort of like a fracture. My hope is you are stabilized with a collar and given pain medication if you are having pain. My understanding is you don’t want to smoke or be around smoke or take NSAIDs (like Motrin, Advil, aspirin, etc.) because it can delay bone healing.
I am very fortunate! In an Aspen Collar, only take it off to shower. Pain meds, the pain is lessening a little. I have never felt so much pain, I have Orthooedic Dr and Neurosurgeon. So, Ibuprofen delays bone healing?
Yes. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8568409/ You might ask for a prescription of calcitonin for pain. Be careful washing your hair.
