Brain Tumor and Lexapro
I have a grade 2 inoperable astrocytoma.
I was on Gabapentin but it did nothing for me.
I got it down from 3 pills to 2 nightly and got a prescription to Lexapro.
After taking the Lexapro I slept 32hrs over the weekend. Stopped the Gapentin. Now just days, mornings of Lexapro, and I can't stay awake.
Anyone have these types of reaction to medicine?

What’s your dosage? My husband has an inoperable Glioblastoma. He started Lexapro at 5 mg and went to 10 mg after several months. Sleepiness was never an issue. It helps him. So does Seroquel.
He also used Gabapentin for a while recently, in addition to the Lexapro. It was not helpful. He moved to Seroquel.
what dose of lexapro? max i can take is 10 mg and it needs to be at night
Is Lexapro a new way to treat GBM? My husband had it n 2022. He was never given Lexapro. His was inoperable too. He had Kepra to combat seizures. And a few other drugs and the chemo. He also had brain radiation which didn’t help.
Lexapro is used to treat depression for my husband. It is working well.
Ok
I took it before cancer and anxiety is messing me up.
I was weening off (useless) Gabapentin when I started Lexapro and I think I had too much gabapentin in my system.
Or, as my wife suggested, the tumor has eaten so much of my brain that 5mg of Lexapro is now way too much.
I read recently that a doctor in Australia has a cure for GBM. At least he thinks it is a cure. I am sure it will be several more years before they know for sure.
The future will be bright for a lot of people.
@joesimmons, what dosage of escitalopram (Lexapro) works for you now? Did you reduce it from 5 mg?
