I will be scheduled in 3 weeks for Brachy Radiation due to Rectal Cancer, Stage 3. Have any of you had this type of radiation? Let me know the positives and negatives. Greatly appreciate your input!!

Definition: Brachytherapy, or internal radiation therapy, is a treatment that involves placing radioactive material inside or near a tumor to destroy cancer cells. This method allows for higher doses of radiation to be delivered directly to the cancer while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
I'd never heard of it, but it sounds like a procedure that can bring improved outcomes. Your inquiry most welcome!

Common procedure for prostate cancer. They put "seeds" in the prostate that give off radiation. You might find someone in the prostate cancer forum who can help you.
