Bowel Resection for Crohn’s

I have been scheduled for a bowel resection but I am very hesitant because there’s a good chance I will end up with an ileostomy bag. Has anyone ever had this surgery and what was the outcome. I am feeling pretty good and have been for quite some time and only have inflammation in a small area of my small bowel so I don’t know if I should take the chance of doing this or just continue on as I have been. Any information would be appreciated.
