Bone marrow edema. Looking for info, similarities in others.

I’ve had bilateral shoulder pain for years. I finally got an MRI done and it shows all sorts of stuff going on in there, including bone marrow edema.

I’ve been doing the same job for 20 years that includes a lot of driving, lifting, and digging with 6’ post hole diggers. Basically, repeated use of my shoulders for years, including some intense use, mainly from the digging.

I started a weight loss journey a little over 2 years ago. I lost a bunch of weight through cardio, but got really scrawny. About 8-10 months ago, I decided to start adding muscle to my frame and started doing lots of push-ups. Got to a point I could do 50 at a time and did 100 a day most days, some days more. About the last 6 months, I added weight lifting too.

So, know I have bone marrow edema in both shoulders and I’m wondering if all this stuff has/can contribute to it?
Thanks for your insight.

My only comment I can offer you is to switch up your exercise program. Since you injured your shoulders from doing the same thing repeatedly don’t mimic this by only doing push ups. Consider a personal trainer or PT for a clinically sound home exercise program that will benefit your condition and add muscle.
