Bone Density

Have Osteoarthritus .doctor wants to put me on Prolio. I need to no if any one had this drug and what the risks are. I don't do alot of drugs just for my thyroid. What else is out there to help Bone Density.

Hi Bunny,
Is your doctor an endocrinologist? What is her/his expertise in treating Osteoporosis and why Prolia first. These are questions you might want to start with. Sequencing is extremely important when starting these drugs. The current thinking seems to be.....start with an anabolic/bone builder like tymlos, forteo or evenity . The more research you do, the more confident you will feel making these decisions along with your doc.

Thank you for the information. I have medicare, but it will not cover Prolio. My doctor is a MD doctor. My bone are not really good at my age. I will look into this and do more research. Is foreteo and tymlos pretty safe. I just do not like putting to many drugs into my body , but have to find a answer. Thank you for getting back to me.
