In search of a urological surgery specialist to repair a bladder that after a recent repair surgery still has a small fistula leak. Suggestions?

@gary74 welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I participate in this group because I have kidney issues. But there are lots of members that have experience with bladder things (including surgeries, catheterization, infections…)
Hopefully some will join this discussion soon.

I had a congenital obstructed ureter and my urologist didn’t seem concerned until I ended up with sepsis. I waited too long and by the time I had it repaired my kidney disconnected. My 2 hour surgery turned into 6 hours. I had it done robotically which was amazing. Now I have a stent in for another week. I’m so nervous my kidney will not repair itself. I know we have 2 and when I left the hospital my GfR which shows kidney function was 52?, not bad up from 31. Normal is 60. My last test was 49 and I’m a bit nervous. I’m being retested on Wednesday. Anyone have these issues?

Not sure where you live. I just had robotic surgery with an excellent Dr. to repair my floating kidney and obstructed ureter. He’s in Boynton Beach Florida. It was a 6 hr surgery.

This morning I woke up with a UTI which is common when you have a stent. I hope he’ll take it out next week and the culture will show up quickly. This is the gift that keeps on giving b
