Biopsy and psa levels
How long after a biopsy can your psa level be affected by the procedure.
Has anyone experienced a significant rise 6 months post biopsy and then eventually return to pre biopsy levels on following tests ?

I have not heard of that occurring, suspect it’s so short people don’t notice it between tests. They claim that doing the biopsy does not spread the cancer, but it can have some leakage of PSA into the bloodstream, and that can raise your PSA.
I think trauma (like a biopsy) to the prostate might raise your PSA level in the short term - maybe for several days after the procedure - but would be unlikely to have any effect months after.
As far as I know biopsy can cause local irritation and mild inflammation of the gland and it can rise PSA , but only for couple of weeks.
How big was jump in PSA ? Did you have any viral infection like COVID before you checked your PSA at 6 mos ?
As others have commented, nothing long term…however, a latent infection, either present before biopsy or caused by it, could make elevated PSA linger.
If a 10 day course of antibiotics brings it down, there’s your answer.
