Best SCI for chronic spinal pain due to cipro
Hello,
I took cipro for an ear infection 10 years ago and it left me w many injuries, all were fixable except the worst one, high-level, chronic spinal pain, mainly in my thoracic spine. I am now looking for the best Spinal Cord Stimulator to bc PO meds no longer work (tolerance). Not sure what kind of pain it is bc it has similarities of both skeletal & nerve, probably sympathetic w all the CNS issues I've had since. Does anyone have a Dr. who's interest is SCSs or SCSs post cipro?

If your oral meds stopped working consider buprenorphine patch which delivers 24/7 pain relief. I was morphine long acting pills which were difficult to get due to mail order pharmacy hoops. The patch is simpler to use and works well. I went from MS 20mg tabs LA to buprenorphine patch 15mcg for one week. That dose was ineffective and we went to 20mcg patch is I’ve been on it for 3 years and love it. Once a week patch change no fuss no muss.

I have a friend who has a spinal pain pump. She is out of pain. I keep that in back of my mind in case all else fails.
I just switched from 15mg oxycodone 6 times daily to 8/2 suboxone twice daily. I have ddd and stenosis with cervicogenic headaches. I am getting better relief without any addiction concerns. I had tried the patches, but they actually made my headaches worse. This has been a life saver because oxycodone had all but stopped helping and my practitioner said I couldn’t take more.
Be sure that you are aware that Medtronic has a Class 1 recall on their SCS. Because of that, none of the hospitals around me will allow a person to have a MRI with it implanted.
