Best PT for TKA
Hello everyone. I wanted to share my experience with PT after TKA. Unfortunately, I had inadequate PT in the first weeks of recovery, when it counted the most. Later, I figured out that there are PT clinics that take insurance and provide a whole hour of treatment. It takes a lot of calls to find these places, so I wanted to give you two names in the cities I live in. In New York City, I go to Empire Physical Therapy. In San Diego, I go to the North County Water and Sports Therapy Center. I tend to favor somewhat shabby facilities over the fancy ones because they prioritize paying their staff and keeping fees low.

I have had excellent full hour PT since the 3rd day after my TKA at Spooner Physical Therapy in Anthem, Arizona. I am now 4 weeks tomorrow post surgery and have extension at 0 degrees and extension 118 degrees. I just graduated to a cane.
I still have significant knee stiffness and discomfort, but it is improving daily. My prayers and empathy for everyone undergoing a TKA. The first month, in my opinion, is the roughest and was not easy.
I’m happy to hear that you’ve had a good outcome so far.
