Best lightweight warm bedding for neuropathy in your feet.
Heavy covers bother my foot neuropathy. Bedding not my specialty. Warm but light. Down, bamboo, goose feathers, down alternative, I have no Idea. Any help?

I think some folks have found blanket lifters work well for keeping a heavy blanket off of your feet.
Hello, @autonomic ~
You have described one of the many problems that neuropathy patients experience. I have had P.N. for over 20 years and was able to find the perfect "blanket" for me. It is actually not a blanket but a down comforter, available through The Country Store. I live in Iowa, so we get temperatures ranging from the 90s to minus 20 degrees. I use this comforter year-round (and actually have 2 identical ones for when one is being cleaned. It is the White Bay Comforter, style/item #C2X2 which they describe as "super light warmth". It is perfect no matter what season you're in. I used to be able to machine-wash mine in the days when I had the Maytag Neptune washer & dryer as those were large enough to accommodate my queen-size comforter. These days, however, I take it to the dry-cleaner because I no longer have machines with large enough drums. I can't recommend this more highly - it is perfect in every way. Well, not expense-wise, but then you definitely do get what you pay for! 😊 Sweet dreams!

I have found that keeping my blanket off my feet entirely and just having really warm, thick fluffy socks on at night works best for me. The warmth is good because it increases circulation bringing oxygen and nutrients to the nerves in your feet/legs. There are blanket “tents” that can be placed at end of bed that people with painful gout use. I would avoid ever using a heating pad as with numb feet you might not be aware of how hot it is and burns could result.
Barb,
Thank you for the comforter advice.
Did you mean The Company Store…..I can’t find The Country Store you mentioned
Hello, @menkcizmar ~
I sure did - many thanks for catching that!! I'm so sorry if my mistake confused people. Need to do a couple of proof-readings when I comment at that time of the night. 🫢
Hi...my first post. My neuro problem I can thank the three lumbar laminectomies, lower discs...their trimming my discs is the culprit for my condition. I read all these letters and I have similar symptoms. For me, after these dozens of years suffering, coating my feet in 5% Lidocaine salve forever....A few months ago someone suggested I do what they do...they picked up one those inexpensive feet Tens Unit, you see them advertised in shopping catalogs, just $15-30 range. And she was raving. I picked up one. They have 6 module in one, and levels of little shocks, like all Ten's units do. It's 4 months now. I go through all 6 modules and at number 5 my results are amazing. No more salves!!! I know I have an issue and I feel my feet have a calves high sock, but here in Pensacola it's beach sandles....but it's a minor feeling. I go all night, no feeling of my feet anylonger. Hope this helps all of you. Alan W
I’m going to look up Tend unit
Thank you Doriskay79
Thanks for the post.
I bought my machine through a person in the Health Field with no instructions. (Friend?)
Trying this and that, even writing to the company for instructions did not help.
You have inspired me to keep trying. 20 years of this getting worse is no fun..
BUT
I always read someone has it worse than I do.
Love this site.
Another suggestion: I've found the Buffy comforters to be my best answer to warmth, light weight, and practicality. They are not cheap, but they are currently on sale. I've landed on Cloud (machine washable, no duvet cover needed), but both the original Cloud and more recent Breeze are good solutions. I don't actually know how the weight of the two compare, but I'm sure they would tell you if you asked.
