Benefits of the “long boot-shoe horn”

Posted by captboat @captboat, 2 days ago

My wife had both knees replaced before I did. I watched her put her shoes on with no struggle after her first knee replacement. Then when I had my first knee replacement I found the joy and comfort of putting on my own shoes when I could not reach my feet. I have not seen any post about the benefits of the “long boot-shoe horn” (this is the shoe horn for putting on high boots)
but if you haven’t tried it you should. If you have trouble putting your shoes on, for whatever reason try this and you will not be sorry. Please share if you’ve had this experience. It’s a game changer!

captboat, others,

You may be able to find kits with long shoe houns, for helping after joint replacement.

Try searching your favorite retailer for "knee replacement kit" or hip replacement kit". I have the long shoe horn and 5 or 6 other reaching aids which were in a modestly priced hip kit. Mine came from "Nourislif " but I am not endorsing a particular source.

It would be great to have these kits at discharge after joint replacement!

Best wishes
