Benefit of extending Evenity to 24 months from 12 months

Interesting research that bone health will continue to improve when Eventity medication use is extended from 12 months to 24 months.

@lillimere this was published in 2018 before FDA approval of Evenity for use (2019). As it turns out (see Ben Leder MD YouTube video graph and other sources, including "Great Bones" by McCormick), Evenity's effect on P1NP is very short lived. There is a dramatic rise in P1NP that declines within weeks. The rest of the time Evenity is an anti-resorptive, according to Leder and McCormick among others. (There is therefore a study on using Reclast instead of Evenity at month 6, which is still ongoing.)
I wonder about a study that allowed women to use placebo that resulted in losing gains, rather than having them do Reclast. This study also doesn't mention rebound when Prolia is stopped. Of course Amgen makes both Evenity and Prolia.
Unsurprisingly this study was sponsored by Amgen (and others) and written by Amgen sponsored writers.

It is interesting that 70, 140, and 210 dosages were included in the study but I find it hard to extract info on that aspect. Hopefully someone else has better luck at that.
@normahorn I will try to find the study that I used when I decided to try one shot rather than two of Evenity. I believe the 210 dose is based on a weight of 155 pounds but I don't remember for sure. Evenity's effectiveness goes up with lower weight. I remember feeling like I needed a dose between the 140 and 210 based on my weight so half the time I did 210 and half the time I did 105 in my 4 months.
I have a copy of that Japanese study. This paper on extending usage to 2 years also lists one of the variables as dosage amounts. Some graphs even reference 140 mg dosage in the headers but the results are hard to find.
You only got one shot monthly instead of two? Did you have side effects? I weigh 120 lbs and was wondering about weight.
Let's just say that pursuing lower doses may not be unwise.
2024 Shkreli awards:
Lumakras, a cancer drug from Amgen that was granted accelerated FDA approval at a daily dose of 960mg, despite findings that a 240mg dose offered similar efficacy with reduced toxicity and risk of side effects, grabbed the third spot.
