A book "The Acid Watcher Diet" by Dr Aviv has been helpful for me.
I don't follow exactly but has been helpful. It gives exact diet and shopping lists.
That would be wonderful. I do not have dysplasia. Can you recommend any good recipe books. There are so many.
Thank you for your help.

3 ReactionsIt never got written down but a lot of things to eat were posted. It’s basically a bland no acid diet. Lots of baked chicken, green vegetables . No citrus, bananas and watermelon are ok. No vinegar products or tomatoe. Cut all spices out. No Soda or booze. No weed or tobacco. Breakfast is oatmeal or shredded wheat and bran or Cheerios with unsweetened almond milk. Low acid coffee for me with almond milk as a creamer. Lunch is Greek yogurt, banana and a turkey sandwich. Supper would be chicken, brown rice and a green vegetable. For desert I’d have a slice of pumpkin bread. My last 2 scopes were Barrett’s free. I stop eating 4 hours before bedtime and that was my problem before. I’ve had no more reflux and my doctor said come back in 5 years. I still take omperazole. Good luck with your new diet.

Hi my name is Kelly . I was recently diagnosed with Gastritis and BE. I am having a heck of a time with my new diet and way of life. I am thankful to be reading this advice. Thank you for being here.
I’m using that book as well! It’s got a lot of good information and helpful recipes for a low acid diet. So far it seems to be helping me with the GERD - although I’m still having issues with swallowing.
Good luck to you both!
Food coming up or heartburn is not a necessary symptom in the case of LPR, where the acid reflux symptoms can be sore throat, coughing, clearing the throat often, and etc. So, you probably have LPR. Research all the ways to reduce acid foods (no tomatoes, citrus, carbonated beverages), and no caffeine or chocolate (because they loosen the sphincter which keeps the acid out of the esophagus), no black pepper or spicy food, sleep with raised head of bed or on a wedge, don't eat big meals, sit straight while eating and chew well, try to move around after eating, eat last meal 3-4 hours before bedtime... and look on the internet for more suggestions...
Anyone has suggestions when you have a flare up with Barrett where you feel as your full and your nauseous ?
I can live with giving up various foods. I will miss my beer. My dad drank one beer a day which he swore by. He said it is good for the blood. He lived to be 96 and was very healthy. I did order the book and I will do better giving up beer. I have it a few times a week I add one bottle of water with an ultra light beer. I mix them together. I love the taste. Thanks for the info
