BARD1 Tumor Mutation
Any one have BARD1 mutation in tumor with low volume spread to bone and/or lymph nodes? Wondering what your experience was in getting rid of those BARD1 mutations. Were you able to achieve remission or did you have fast reoccurrence after treatment?

Does anyone have experience with this?
@bkandrew, what treatment has been recommended?
I tried to find some info by "googling" and this is what I found:
"A BARD1 mutation in prostate cancer, particularly in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), can make the cancer sensitive to PARP inhibitors. Olaparib, a PARP inhibitor, is FDA-approved for treating mCRPC with BARD1 mutations. Other PARP inhibitors and targeted therapies are also being investigated".
I am sorry that I can not be of more help. If it is of any comfort, it looks that this kind of cancer really responds well to PARP inhibiting medications like Olaparib.
In theory Parp inhibitors should be effective. But yours is a very rare mutation so there are not a lot of studies yet.
