Bad Side Effects with 1 Fosamax Pill 7 months Ago!

Posted by llc52infofo @llc52infofo, 11 hours ago

After a bone density test, my doctor prescribed Fosamax fall 2025. I took ONE pill. By the next day, I had bk hip pain (left side) and intense pain in my upper thigh (left leg). I could not even go up steps, unless it was one step at a time like a 4 yr old! I did not obviously take any more. Had an x-ray, was prescribed prescription an anti-inflammatory. Sm improvement, but STILL after 7 months, sitting for even 30 minutes, hurts when I stand up, I walk with pain and a limp until I've waked some steps, then I walk normally. I used to walk 5 miles a day. No problems then whatsoever! Has anyone else experienced these complications after only 1 pill? I wish I had NEVER taken it. I have an order for physical therapy. Hoping it helps.

Just as a comparison, I took alendronate (Fosamax) for almost 5 years with no obvious side effects. I am now dealing with stomach issues, though, which I assume could be related. During the course of the 5 years, I had a bone density test that showed quite a bit of improvement and will be having another one soon to see if it was worthwhile. I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. Your side effects from 1 pill seem unusual, to say the least.
