Does anyone deal with the issue of gerd with bad breath? Currently on PPI, 40mg

My experience with the GERD/bad breath problem began with a liver issue. It was really bad! After trying several remedies, I found the Closys brand mouthwash about the time I received some medical attention. I credit both for the improvement, but I am never without Closys. Another benefit of Closys is that you can choose between mint or no taste at all, almost like water. Since I am allergic to mint, that is a bonus for me. And it has really worked well for me.

Thank you so much for your response. I do have fatty liver, I wonder if that’s contributing to it. What was ever done for your liver?

I do. My doctor advised me that PPI 40mg would lessen my body's ability to absorb iron. I was recently diagnosed with anemia too.
So I consulted with a doctor who works as both a traditional doctor and functional doctor who recommended I use Ortho Molecular Products' GlutaShield.
This is a powder that mixes easily with water or a smoothie to help minimize acid in the stomach while allowing more iron absorption than the Rx.

Just a thought if you are on the Rx long term. We still need to absorb our daily recommended intake of iron....

Topical? Or just plain peroxide?

I am a peroxide freak. Use it for many purposes but I have gerd and when brushing my teeth or swishing with peroxide I get horrible heartburn.
