Avascular necrosis in the mandible joint: Anyone familiar with this?

Posted by tikigod18 @tikigod18, Mar 1, 2020

Is any one familiar with avascular nerosis in the mandible joint Resulting from TMJ? This is a result of a torn ligament. My choice seems to be joint replacement, and was wondering if anyone was familiar with this?

@tikigod18, several members have talked about avascular necrosis, also called osteonecrosis, albeit in the knee and hip. See these discussions:

- Avascular necrosis of the humeral head https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/avascular-necrosis-if-the-humeral-head/

Joint replacement is often the preferred option. When will you be having surgery? Or have you decided yet?
