ASD and Addiction Related?

Is it possible that "addiction" as an affective disorder is in fact another behavioral expression on the neuro-divergent spectrum ? ASD ? All of my symptoms of ASD virtually line up with attempting to wear a mask to "fit in." Am high functioning yet with some deficits that are related to "addiction." Is it possible that one can attempt to build an erroneous identity around an erroneous diagnosis of "alcohol abuse disorder?"
