Are calcifications after TKR anything to worry about?

2 year follow up to TKR showed calcification in arteries. Could this contribute to still occurring knee stiffness?

Several factors can play into this....age, how much calcification etc... I was sent to the vein clinic (can't think the department name) and some calcification is normal due to age as I'm 63 but shouldn't affect knee. Blood flow all around the knee was normal even with some calcification. At two years out I still have knee stiffness and soreness but I think mine is scar tissue and arthritis. I had lots before my surgery.

Thanks so much for replying. I am also going to a vascular surgeon to have this checked out. Two year follow Up with TKR doc went as expected-“Xray looks great.”
Me: “Why is my knee still stiff and causing some pain?”
No real answer, but saying weak muscles and do more P T. Since calcifications were noted on the X-ray, I decided to check this out.

I was told the same thing...knee looks good (2nd opinion) so either continue with PT or do the exercises and stretching on my own. Weak muscles...same old same old. I had a sports medicine Dr. send me to vascular to check out the veins and blood flow and it was all good with some calcification which was normal for my age. I'm so tired of my knee and surrounding muscles being sore and hurting when I overdo. By two years you would think that things would be better and while they are from where I started I would almost rather deal with the prior cortisone shots but they were getting every 4 months or so and did the surgery. I even had one after my surgery around a year and it didn't help.

OMG- exactly the same story!!
Thanks so much for your reply. Now what? I still cannot walk down stairs normally. I am doing PT, taking Advil and sometimes stronger meds. My doc said they don’t give cortisone after TKR . I am going to try tennis again- no running and wearing knee brace. Shall we tell our age? Could this factor in?
Thanks again.
