Anyone on Eliquis for atrial fibrillation using Tymlos?
I am 60 and have osteoporosis. I took Fosomax for 3 years and I have failed that since my numbers got worse. Though my T scores are not the worst, I recently fell and broke my humerus necessitating surgery and my doctor tells me that because of this break I now qualify as having severe osteoporosis.
I am also quite accident prone (I had an acoustic neuroma many years ago which impacted my balance nerve) and have fractured my right foot twice and my left fibula, all over the last 5 years. I have also fallen multiple other times and had some skin lacerations, so the likelihood that I will fall again is quite high.
My T scores from about a year ago are:
Lumbar Spine: 2.7
Right hip – 2.2
Left hip – 2.5
My blood calcium has fluctuated quite a bit and so has my parathyroid hormone, but once I added calcium supplements they seemed to normalize. Now my rheumatologist is suggesting Tymlos. I am concerned due to my heart condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and the fact that I have had atrial fibrillation and take Eliquis.
Has anyone with my complications (afib and Eliquis) taken Tymlos? How did you do?

Hello @cynaburst,
I'd like to invite @nwhiker, @nancy69, @lindabp and @meri8181 to this discussion as they have all mentioned weighing the options of osteoporosis medications while also being on Eliquis.
