Welcome @chemist1, What symptoms do you have with your neuropathy? Have you found any treatment that helps with the symptoms?

I feel like I am also losing my fine motor skills. And coordination. It's difficult for me to separate what symptoms are due to aging and which to PN.
I'm thinking about PT to build up my leg strength so I can walk. I do weight work at home, but would like specific exercises to aid in coordination and balance.
Congrats survivor!!
My PN also caused by brain trauma. Meningiomas and craniotomy, conventional radiation and 2 x stereotactic. Then meds to deal with seizures after stereotactic radiation. Those are a trip, I tell you!
No cure for me. Time will not heal these wounds. I don't like to rest, but find I need to rest my legs.
Cheers!

I do know what went away when I started taking PreGabalin and that was left side chest pain and leg tingling and numbness and that INFERNAL itching all over my body.

I have peripheral neuropathy since October 2023 and the MRI indicates it may be originating from L4, L5, S1 joints. I have tried chiropractic locally, then PT, and two steroid injections at these joints (August '24 and January '25). Since June 2024 I started taking supplements to include alpha lipoid, B-Complex, Magnesium Glycinate, and Nervive. I've stepped up walking more to push my metabolism and try to stick to a pre-diabetic diet (although my A1c hemoglobin value is 6.0 with glucose at 126 fasting a month ago, pretty good. My BIG question, has anyone effectively tried high frequency red light therapy with deep wave length penetration to the nerves, 670 nano meters up to 800 nm with intensity for sustained change? I have listened to presentation from 4-chiropractic pain doctors promoting this Red Ultra Light technique such as Red Revive, or Norelie, or PhyxMeNeuropathy.com and others. I'm afraid to lose my independence and stepping up my options. Thank you. -Louise

What I was told was that if it is still an issue two years out, it is probably here to stay. My main issue is the numbness also. My hands - I constantly drop things and cannot use a pen, pencil, paintbrush for very long at all. As an artist, that is the pits. My feet are dumb across the bottom back to my heel and it feels like I have little sand bags under my toes. They tingle all the time. I have to be careful about hot or cold but then if I stub my toe or hit my finger on something, it about puts me on the floor. It is not debilitating but it is aggravating and sometimes depressing.

I hope for you some relief. I would be interested inn what you find out from the neurologist. I will be starting chemo again soon and suspect mine my be getting worse - but then who knows. Good luck on that doctor visit.

@grandma41 yes, the Gabapentin caused dizziness for me. My husband takes it with no issues at all. I almost fell a few times and I decided it was not worth the risk for me. I did take it for a few months; long enough for the mmedication to have worked if it was going to. I may have helped a litte.

I was taking gabapentine when I was in chemo but it came Bach after transplant and gabapentine didn’t help anymore. My neurologists changed it to duloxetin Hal etc which has worked with the stabbing pain but my legs still feel like am wearing tight boots all the time. My hands and arms are mostly numb and I do drop things but the burning stabbing is gone

I began symptoms when I e
Went on RX for gastric reflux. Started with pins and needles,es on occasion but soon became all my up and sbouttime. I did a lot of reading and decided to try the tart cherry juice twice a day. After 2 weeks I saw a big change for the best. I also learned that RX for reflux etc deplete you magnesium functionally. I now take an oral dose of magnesium and the tart cherry juice.

Go on You Tube and type this in - Good Vibes Miracle Nerve Regeneration #GV065 - Play the first video that shows up, it has a blue thumbnail of nerves. Play it for 20 minutes with the speakers on and loud enough. Make sure your affected body parts are a couple of feet away from the speaker. Please try this.

I'm glad that helped you! I listened to that noise for just 2 minutes, and it almost drove me completely insane.
Take care,
Jake
