Anyone diagnosed with Skin Cancer after Breast Cancer?
I had triple negative BC and DCIS in 2023 and I was recently diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Skin Cancer. Anyone else have experience with this?
Thank you!

Yes..............I had several patches of skin cancer removed but, I used to have a tanning bed and tanned alot. I chocked it up to that. Lately, all has been good.
Red hair and freckles my whole life. I thought melanoma would get me. Squamous got my dad and because he was misdiagnosed it mediatized to his lungs. Skin cancer as we were told is often damage from childhood. As adults we get checked regularly. I had one thing i was concerned about and when i got to my dermatologist, he said the one next to it is more concerning. He was a pathologist as well and he cut out many of my basil cell cancers. Thirty or so and none have returned. Today i have a new dermatologist at the COH I have been treated at for my cancer.
@mchler73 Im so sorry to hear about the skin cancer! Wishing you the best!
Thank you!
Yes..I had breast cancer in 2020 and 2024 and in 2024 I had basal cell carcinoma on my face. Luckily Moh's surgery removed all of it.
I had hypo-fractionated radiotherapy (in other words, 5 large doses, instead of perhaps 20 smaller ones) in Nov 2024 for breast cancer. No skin cancer so far, but dermatologist recommends twice a year visits so he can check. He said radiotherapy can cause skin cancer--who knew?
I had a melanoma on my back. But I was boating a lot with my family. Burn a lot when I was younger . Try to be more vigilant about sunscreen and staying out of sun.
Not squamous cell but basil cell. I watch everything now!
