Anybody suffered with chronic lower back pain post Cyprofloaxin.?
I was given a 2 week course of this antibiotic for repeated bladder infections. The prescribing Prof never warned me about potential side effects. Initially I had leg pain calf and lower hamstring behind my right knee, which subsided after 3/4 days. I finished my course and 3 days later have crippling lower back muscle pain. I can hardly walk. Anybody else have this experience? Does it go away? Pain killers ineffective sadly.

Did you stop the ciprofloxacin? That is the most important thing. Your prescribing doc can give you an alternative if you did not finish the course. Rest and anti inflammatories like ibuprofen are recommended, as you are doing. There are no studies, but antioxidants and amino acid therapy is recommended by some physicians. Low intensity physical therapy may be helpful. If no response you can be evaluated for tendonopathies or worst case tendon rupture.
I would recommend adding ciprofloxacin to your allergy list, even though it is not a true allergy. This will keep you from inadvertently being prescribed it again.
I would try simple thing like heating pads, gentle stretching (not to the point of pain) cool packs, and rest for symptom relief while you wait on your doc.
Also ask your doc if your should avoid all antibiotics from the same class as ciprofloxacin.
