Anybody had infection while doing radiation treatments?
Went back to the drs just now after my treatment this morning because something does not feel right.
They are stopping the treatments because they think it’s inflamed and I may have infection. I’m picking up prescription right now. They messaged the surgeon too so he can check. Will be on 10 day oral antibiotics. I go back Monday to see if there’s any improvement so I can continue the treatments.
I’m so frustrated right now. I literally have 2 more days.

Yes, I had a horrible infection - only the radiation doctor did not diagnose it - said I was just burnt. I was on fire, red, blistered and peeling. I went to my oncologist and he took one look and said it was a severe infection - two different oral antibiotics for 10 days.
I had four weeks of partial breast radiation on my right side- the last week are super doses. I not only suffered the burns and infection, but my lung was damaged. Ended up one month later, having acute pneumonia, life flighted to a major hospital and intubated for six days, hospitalized for 14.
If I knew what I know now - I would have chosen a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. NO radiation and no cancer drug (which is killing me) for years upon years.
Sorry - this has been a terrible journey and it's not close to being over. Sadly.
