Any hope of getting appointment at Mayo?

I am looking for 2nd opinion for recurrent meningioma treatment and was told there were no appts available in Florida clinic where I am able to travel. I am disappointed.

Keep calling. Be your best Knight in Shinning Armor. If there is one thing I have learned with doctors, it's we must stomp our feet, get what we, and demand full disclosures and information. I no longer play the trusting ingenue with doctors, because I have had information withheld from me, and when the doctor makes a mistake there is little to no accountability or consequences. We the patients have to be tenacious eventhough we may be made weak, iinsecure, and defeated due to our current condition.

Your mental state-of-mind is just as important, so get that second opinion. However, if a clinic tell you they are too busy, that's a red flag that you may be approaching a factory rather than a doctor who is allowed to be more patient-focused. If you are able to travel a bit, there are highly competent medical professionals throughout the country.

I called Florida in March and was told there were no openings. Thanks.

I asked for a second opinion referral from the neurologist that initially diagnosed me (misdiagnosed) and received a call from Mayo Rochester within 2 days and had an appointment the following day. Perhaps a referral can speed up the process.

@1myhope it may be worth a call back to mention the 48-hour Access Program.

I went to the Rochester Mayo for mine and they were incredible. I wein the winter because it was easier to get an appointment at that time of the year. If you can wait and travel this might be an option for you.
