Alterra AI s Decipher testing

The Alterra AI pathology report showed that I do not need ADT before starting radiation. Is the Decipher test necessary, too?

Icbc, hi. I'd want the decipher test because it identifies the genetic mutations in the tumor itself. Alterra AI seems like a wonderful addition to the armory using and comparing images. The specifics of your tumor are subject to another area of intelligence. It may be useful if you ever have metastasis. It can warn you about the possibility and about which agents are active against each particular mutation. If you decide on Decipher be sure and ask for a copy of the grid.

More knowledge is best. Maybe Decipher is not necessary before radiation starts.

The ArteraAI Prostate Test provides information about recurrence risk in prostate cancer. So the decipher test would be redundant.

I wish I would have been given or offered a decipher test. Just saying.

I know the feeling. You've escaped ADT and if you hurry, you won't get waylaid. But I think there is no reason to wait You know the sample will be from the biopsy and it takes about three weeks and probably wouldn't chance your status with regard to ADT.
I agree with you.
Best wishes for your treatment.

@lcbc
I am not familiar with AI pathology.

When I got my diagnosis for prostate cancer it was intermediate risk. My R/O recommended Decipher test which came back low risk. That changed my treatment plan from radiation with hormone treatment to radiation only.

I am a proponent of Decipher test as it was really important to me in my journey with prostate cancer. I was told Decipher is a genetic and accurate prognosis for degree of aggressiveness of you cancer. It look at your biopsies taken and a more accurate and defining test of the aggressiveness.

So I am on the side of Decipher as it was the test I did and made a dramatic change to my treatment plan.
