Alternativews to Linzess

Posted by brotherchuckles80 @brotherchuckles80, 5 days ago

Has anyone found combintion of lesser expens9ve drugs that does whatLinzess does to relieve constipation. I think that I may go to Miralax, which I already take in the morning with Linzess and then combine the Miralax with ducolax. Any other ideas will be appreciated. Thank you. Charles

I have struggled with these issues more years than i can remember. My body would not tolerate Linzess, and Miralax did nothing at all. What has worked for me is the supplement IBS Clear with bioperine. I don’t know that it would work for everyone but it has been a miracle for me.

Thank you I've already checked it out. I pray that it will be a fit for me also. God bless you. Charles AKA brotherchuckles80

Miralax makes me constipated even more because it takes extra fluid from the body, I don't have extra fluid in my body so it does the opposite to me. Dulcolax helps my constipation, I take 2-3 Dulcolax every other night if needed. But lately I haven't need to take Dulcolax. If I am constipated for more than 3 days I start taking Dulcolax.
Linzess makes me constipated because it uses fluid from the body to work and because of my Short gut syndrome I have limited fluids in my body.

I didn’t realize Ducolax was for long term use. All of my doctors said to not use laxatives like it for my chronic constipation, They all recommended Miralax for long term use. I do use Miralax several times a week now with no problem. Sometimes, my constipation dissipates. I also add a couple of salads and daily fresh fruit.

The IBS Clear is actually psyllium husks fiber, which is the same as Metamucil. I used that for about a year, but found I did just as well without it and using Miralax only, but everyone is different. I already have a good diet and take supplements, so I don’t think I need the added ingredients in IBS Clear, though the probiotics might be helpful.

I think different things work for different people. I keep hoping my situation resolves one day. For me it came out of no where. Tests offer no explanation. Colonoscopy normal.

Did you have to take Linzess a week to see any improvement? I had improvement immediately, then nothing for a week, so I stopped taking it. I was afraid I would get a big surprise incident and stopped using it. Perhaps, I should give it another try.

It took about a week for Lynn's ass to take hold and work. But I also had to take two tablespoons or a teaspoons of Miralax the same time. The lenses is getting very expensive now even though I was on the pap program so that's why I'm looking into IBS clear. Thank you for your response. God bless you. Charles

My G.I. doctor said it is fine to use Ducolax suppositories for chronic constipation.

Interesting. I have used liquid enemas occasionally, that work pretty well. I try to save that for extreme situations.
