@sunshine2023 I'm not sure of what the issue is that you are trying to resolve, but I can tell you that physical therapy with a trained specialist who also does myofascial release can do a lot to relieve pain and get the body back into better ergonomics and better movement. It is easy to get stuck by bad posture and injuries and not be able to move properly. That of course can cause wear and tear on the body, and with anything spine related, posture is so important.

What is your concern with the NSAID, prednisone, and muscle relaxers? They aren't working for you? You're concerned about side effects? Other reasons?

Concerned about side effects and interested if other people had found alt. To work.

All of these meds have their place in the treatment of back pain. I have found NSAIDs to be very effective and with limited side effects. Muscle relaxers are also helpful for the treatment of spasms, but can make you tired. I typically limit my use to bedtime. Oral prednisone never did anything for me except maybe keep me awake, but others have benefited from their use. These are all pretty standard first line treatments.

Icy Hot patches or Biofreeze gel both work really well for pain relief from muscle spasms and have no side effects as long as you don't mind the smell of menthol.

NSAIDs have a huge potential to harm you. Who ever said it did not have negatives is wrong. Please read about NSAIDs on google first? Yes they have a benefit but long term use can be deadly and for some with pre-existing conditions. I cannot take NSAIDs so the only anti-inflammatory I take is Turmeric 2400mg 3x day and follow an anti-inflammatory diet. I use buprenorphine patch for pain.
