After surgery on my right shoulder cuff
I fell. It was ice and when I fell I had no idea that it would change my life forever! I had to be rushed to the hospital but no one knew I was there for 1 full hour. I laid there under my car freezing.
When I got to the hospital, they said My shoulder area, shattered. I was in no condition to ask any questions or make any demand so the doctor did what he thought to be right. I have a metal piece in my shoulder area.
I cry every night, its been a year now. I struggle to keep my job and i am in pain all the time. I take pain relievers but I am thinking about the rest of my life and I just want to know what are other options for my situation. I want to have some enjoyment in my life. Any body like my body? 🙂

@shayvee I'm sorry you have been in pain for so long, it sounds like more evaluation needs to be done.
Have you seen the original orthopedic surgeon to make sure the shoulder healed properly? Did you have physical therapy afterwards, and continue the recommended PT exercises at home?
yes & no. THIS IS MY FAULT ABOUT THE CONSTANT THERAPY. I JUST DIDNT WANT TO LOSE MY JOB. I KEPT WORKING BECAUSE I DONT HAVE TO USE MY ARMS MUCH. i NEED SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN AND ANY INFO. WOULD BE APPRECITATED.
Had shoulder surgery. Metal piece put in. shattered . scarring tissue.
constant pain. Even after therapy. What to do? Misérable.
It has been a few weeks since your posting, have you contacted your doctor about a referral for pain management or additional therapy?
It sounds like you perhaps didn't do your exercises regularly after surgery and you now have scar tissue to deal with. It will be very tough to manage your pain long-term without addressing the root cause.
I understand the need to keep your job, but is there any way to adjust work hours once a week to do PT? Or can you find a PT clinic that offers early, late, or Saturday hours?
I had total shoulder replacement in February. Had a traumatic fall from tilt trailer in April. Ruined the whole apparatus. Major pain!!
Had shoulder re-replacement to a reverse shoulder replacement in July. Surgery was long and first few weeks it was very painful. NO physical therapy due to likelihood of fractures. 5 weeks out now and it’s getting better!
This too shall pass.
Please go back to orthopedic - living in extreme pain is not the way to go.
