Advice on Penis pumps

Posted by graybeard46 @graybeard46, Jan 5 8:37am

I am 4 months post prostate surgery and soon to start radiation since some cancer still evident. The mental stress of cancer is bad enough but not having sex with my wife adds greatly to my getting down . I bought a pump from menmd a month ago but not able to get rigid enough for sex and the rubber tension ring is semi painful and makes any amount of of pleasure difficult. I’m tempted to try injections but with radiation and hormone treatments which kill my testosterone, maybe I should be more patient?

Lots of discussion re penis pumps. Can someone recommend a specific brand? Or are they all the same?

I'm going to look up this stuff when I get home from work, so I don't get hassled by HR.

I've found they differ.

First I tried the Morpheus from the Urology Health Store which was a total waste of money. There are several disclaimers in the manual that say things like if you press the buttons too hard you can invalidate the warranty.
The store was unable to tell me what the included lube which caused me a lot of irritation contained and also has a strict no refund policy. I would avoid both them and any of the devices they sell.

After that I went to the local smut store and after talking to the clerk a bit bought one there named Pumped by Shots, for about a quarter the price that works. It was amusing because the clerk was ~40+ years younger than me and talked to me in that slow patient way younger people sometimes do because they think you're really old.
I have since bought a third device called a Hydromax that uses water not air which is much better but has the downside of needing to be used in the bath. The advantage though is that it does not hurt. For me the air based pumps cause discomfort then pain after 10-15 minutes or so.

My experience with all the pumps I've tried is that they cause some engorgement but not an erection.
Trying any constriction device after pumping to maintain the engorgement I find extremely painful and I've stopped trying them.
I had the robotic nerve sparing surgery ~9 months ago and since have had zero problems with incontinence,
no erections, no desire for sex, and no orgasm because I just can't be bothered.

My pump was only about $30 it’s electric and has 4 intensities. It has been working great for me. My only problem I have is I go limp lying down so we work it out standing up or at least I’m standing. Believe me when I say my anxiety is gone and I feel like a man again. Good luck friend

I’m amazed a $30 pump works so well , I’m jealous, I was warned not to get a cheap one but happy for you , got my first hormone shot yesterday so out shopping for a small bra and a magnifying glass to find my Johnson which I’m told will shrink, so sounds like I won’t feel like a real man again for a long time

Hello, Greybeard!
Seeing your question about the vacuum pump, I want to ask you for advice.
I was prostate cancer after radical urinary incontinence, to today just two years. I removed from the pelvic cavity prostate, seminal vesicle and so on 123 grams of weight, space has increased a lot. I've been doing Kegel exercises and pelvic floor muscles, but there's too much space in my pelvis, and I'm still 70% incontinent. I'm thinking of using a vacuum stick to increase the length and circumference of the penis. Excuse me, how much is the vacuum stick you bought? Is it Miao Ao International Medical?
Thank you!

The pump will not work for me either, at 77 I still use the pump because if used right and often you will gain girth and length. Must hold for 3 minutes at a time and at least 3-4 times a week. Anxiety for me was the worst problem I’ve had after my cancer diagnosis. I did radiation therapy and seed implants. I’ve been cancer free for 13yrs now. I’ve worked my way through almost everything you can imagine and use quadmix today. There’s some discomfort but out-ways the pleasure

My surgeon suggested going to the Menmd website, to get a quality pump, they have 3 to choose from $99, $199, and $299 which is battery powered , I got the $199. After 2 months of practice I still can’t get rigid enough and the plastic ring that keeps the blood from escaping hurts a little so I’m ready for possible penal injection but since I started my first Hormone injection yesterday, I need to see if I’m wasting my time with trying anything including ciallis and or viagra to help with the pump since the hormone from what little I know kills my testosterone and desire which is hard to believe since it has always been very important in a good marriage of 40 years . Good luck with the pump and watch the videos many times and you can call the company that makes these pumps and discuss freely any issues you have , good luck
