ADT and Insomnia: What's helps you sleep?
I have been on ADT for 3 1/2 months, and am beginning to have a problem with insomnia. A quick check with Dr. Google shows that this is a known side effect. I would welcome any suggestions.

I’m scheduled for ADT as well, in the future. I already have insomnia. What is the treatment for this side effect of ADT ?
I've had this issue since I started on Abiraterone and Zoladex, but not sure whether the insomnia is due to the ADT or due to the Prednisolone 10 mg that has to be taken with Abiraterone. I too asked my Medical Onco who reluctantly gave me a sleeping pill, which ultimately I did not take. Instead, I tried to resume my walking and am trying to be on my feet a lot more. I do get around 4-5 hours sleep (I have to get up 2-3 times for peeing in between) and I have got used to that now, I don't feel unduly tired during the day for this decreased amount of sleep.
75 and been on ADT (lupron and Zytiga) for 12 mos. Sleep was elusive for the first few mos until I talked (complained and whined) to primary care NP. ( I took a sleep test to eliminate "sleep apnea".)
She suggested and prescribed Gabapentin which works really well.
I needed to find the dose that worked for my situation. Started at 300mg and settled on 1500mg. Sounds like a lot but it's well below the max dose.
Gabapentin also helps w neuropathy and anxiety. I have both. It's recommended to spread the dosage out. Good Luck. Happy St Patty's Day.
I certainly had insomnia with ADT and Erleada. I would take 2 Tylinol pm pills daily and it was a big help. I am now off of these PC drugs now but I continue with the Tylinol pm as it does no harm and it helps me to get a good nights sleep ( probably helps with the joint pain of a 75 year old)
Will Gabapentin stop my shoulders and back from tingling at night when I sleep on my back> I am on Zolodex and Xtandi at 78 with mcrpc
I think Gabapentin does help me w the "ants crawling" around my back. I have that sensation when I first hit the bed but it goes away shortly after. The foot itching stops as well . I do take the Gabapentin 30 mins before bed.
Good luck
Great question, with lots of helpful replies. I am 2.3 years into this cancer journey. I've never been a great sleeper. It seems like my PC meds made it worse. Lately, my sleep has improved. I am now at 6-8 hours of sleep per night for the first time in my life. The cancer doctor was reviewing my meds. We talked about my sleep problems, and the discussion went nowhere. He did instruct me to stay away from sleep aids. Until he mentioned it, I'd never thought about it. I bought some Viccks ZZZ and Nyquil PM cough. I sleep great. I'm at 3-4 pees per night.
