Ablation for knee pain after TKR

Posted by zilla @zilla, 1 day ago

I had a TKR about 10 years ago. Did all the PT to no avail. Had a partial revision of same knee 5 years later. Scar tissue removed and that disc thing increased in size - pain improved for about 2 years. Pain now back worse than ever so I’m considering an ablation. Do they work on TKR knee? PS I’m severely affected by the weather. Any connection?

Do more research before you agree to an ablation. Patients report they aren't as successful as the doctors claim. There are significant risks. If it does work for you it may provide as little as a few weeks if relief. Results are all over the place. If it works then you don't feel the pain for a while, but the problem is still there. Try to find a doctor that can identify the problem.
