Abilify

Perhaps you should quit your medications and not take any new ones for a few days to let your body rest and re-group, so to speak. Apparently your current medications are causing you problems. It could be the same with any new ones. Talk to your doctor about this and see what he says. Also pray about it. God will direct you in the right way.

I tried Abilify 2mg and then increased to 5mg. I was also taking 150mg Wellbutrin/bupropion. I seemed slightly better at 2 mg Abilify but started to get increased pain and difficulty walking (affected nervous system and muscles negatively) when it was increased to 5mg. I stopped after 2-3 weeks on the 5mg Abilify.

I was on duloxetine but maxed at 60mg. It worked at first but stopped after a couple years. What are your current symptoms? I am not as familiar with Buspar. I am currently taking 300 mg Wellbutrin/bupropion and just increased to 75mg Zoloft/sertraline. It is helping to treat my major depression. I also have chronic pain, neuropathy, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, etc. I’m 55 years old. Major depression can really knock you off your feet and keep you down/rob you of your quality of life so getting mental health support is critical.

Feeling like I wanna cry a lot and anxiety. I got better for about a month when duloxetine was increased and buspar was added but then crashed again. Abilify is supposed to help me sleep and resolve the rest of depression/anxiety in conjunction with other meds.

Abilify seems to have helped me. I started on 5mg, then 7.5, 10, and now 15. I currenlty take 200 Zoloft, 15 Abilify, 900 Gabapentan, and some ADHD meds. I started taking Abilify in the evening as instructed and it didn't make me drowsy so I started taking in the day with all my other med so I wouldn't forget. Now being on 15 though, I am switching back to evenings. Abilify works for me, I hope it works for you.

I developed Tardive dyskinesia after taking ABILIFY to augment my medication for depression. ABILIFY is an anti psychotic. I have never, ever experienced psychosis. I now have burning tongue syndrome and half of my tongue is paralyzed due to the ABILIFY. I told my psychiatrist for over one year, that I was having abnormal tongue thrusts, noticed but my husband. I trusted this doctor, who dismissed these symptoms, until I developed full blown Tardive dyskinesia. My doc never said he was sorry or that I shouldn’t have received this medication. I fired him but I am left with permanent damage to my tongue. My advice, don’t take this medication.

Agree. I am so sorry you have had this happen.

I was depressed and taking a couple of depression meds. Feeling better but not myself. They added ability and I’ve felt great since. I hope it works for you. I know everybody is different.

They will try to charge you full charge, if you cannot afford it they will drop it to a reasonable amount.

Your provider has to order it for you, I believe.
