3 year anniversary: PSA remains undetectable

Posted by kenhorse @kenhorse, Jan 16 9:23pm

I underwent RARP on Jan 31st, 2023. I was originally biopsied at Gleason 8, downgraded to 7 afterwards. 100% contained in prostate, no lymph node/bladder involvement and I underwent no chemo nor hormone nor radiation therapy afterwards. As of today, my PSA remains undetectable.

Great results. Hope you get decades of Remission.

Keep testing though, mine reoccurred at 3 1/2 years. Every six months is enough since it’s going so well.

Congratulations! I’m 3 month out from RP. May I ask how the impotence and innocence is and how love did it take?

Thanks for posting and congratulations! I’d like to know how long it took to regain blaster control and have erections? I had a RP 3 months ago.

I had RP in October 2025. I wore depends at first but discovered an “ external catheter” and bought one. It looks like a condom with a tube placing urine into a leg bag. It give me more confidence of avoiding accidents and works well. However I notice after wearing it when I take it off at the end of my penis where the slit is located it is swollen. I worry if that is a problem. I deduce that maybe due to the air tight condone/ tube/ bag that it creates a vacuum of negative pressure that causes that swelling?
Has anyone else experienced this and should I be concerned?
