I am 78 and have an enlarged common bile duct, 10 mm. High bun. Should I be concerned?

Not unless your gastroenterologist says it's something serious. I have a similarly enlarged bile duct, likely due to having my gall bladder removed 12 years ago. Although I have Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency which is managed with supplemental pancreatic enzymes, the bile duct itself is of no concern.

Thank you. I have never had any gall bladder issues that I am aware of.

@janflute,

Was this enlarged bile duct found as a result of symptoms you were having? Did your doctor give you any information on the reason?
