When to retest for cdiff

I had cdiff toxin b mid November 2023. 10 days Vanco. Stool went back rot normal right away but still two months later have nausea that comes and goes and epigastric pain. Nausea ramps up and loose stool with Amy dairy or food that is not bland.
GI said they don’t test for cdiff again as it could still be positive from first diagnosed 2 ago. Is that true? I see others here getting tested after cdiff?

abdominal ultrasound normal. Colonoscopy and endoscopy normal. Now the gi ordered CT abdomen with and without contrast…..and a barium drink with it. Bleck.

My question is wouldn’t it make sense to test stool again before doing a CT with barium and iv contrast?

The gi thinks it is all residual stuff from original infection and could take 6 months to a year to fully heal.?

I’ve heard both. My rheumatologist retested me so he could know whether he could let have my Remicade infusion. I had a stool test and it returned abnormal for C-Diff. I took the antibiotics and 16 days later he ordered this

C difficile Toxin Gene NAA -

I don’t know a lot about that gene test, but it was negative and I was allowed to receive my infusion.
