Blood Pressure Spike: Anyone experience this after Eligard or Lupron?

I was in a clinical trial for 13 with lupron and Erleada and my blood pressure went up. My cardiologist upped my blood pressure meds. I have been off of lupron and Erleada now for a year and my blood pressure meds needed to be reduced.

I am on eligard and abiraterone and monitoring blood pressure is a daily activity, fortunately i have not had any increase, but it is definitely a potential side effect. Hope you are able to resolve, thank you for sharing. Keep the faith

While I didn’t see a spike in my BP. After I received my first two eligard shots, I was in to have Space Oar gel inserted and my sharp eyed nurse saw a squiggle on my ekg and she freaked. All of a sudden, and I never had any issues, I had to go to emergency for Afib. Saw a cardiologist and he had no concerns, just prescribed Elliquis. I received a total of three shots and rang the bell in May. So far I have not seen anymore incidents. Hormone therapy sucks.

@ddl, I hope you saw the helpful replies from @slick65 @edmond1971 and @hbp. It's not uncommon to have multiple conditions that need monitoring while in cancer treatment. I'm not sure where you are getting treatment, but you may ask about a cardio-oncology specialist or department.

Mayo Clinic offers a program to address heart problems associated with cancer treatment called cardio-oncology or for people who have a pre-existing heart condition when diagnosed with cancer. The Cardio-Oncology Clinic (https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/cardio-oncology-clinic/overview/ovc-20442193) evaluates people prior to cancer treatment and patients who have experienced side effects due their treatment, and can help evaluate treatment when you have both cancer and heart conditions.

Do you have access to a similar cardio-oncology program? Is your oncologist aware of your cardio issues and vice versa?

I'm on Eligard. My blood pressure was high before treatment. After radiation to spin and ribs, ADT, Darolutamide, and 10 Docetaxel cycles my Blood Pressure runs around 108/78. My wife thinks that the vessels were being compressed. The treatment relieved any compression of my blood vessels and things are good. I also exercised (walking), stairs as much as I can handle.
