Proton Beam disrupts the DNA activity, so the goal of this radiation is to put the tumor in remission. It does not remove it and it does not shrink it is what I understand. I have read that for most meningiomas the first line of treatment is surgery followed by radiation, but that also depends on the location of the tumor. I had surgery twice and then radiation.
