Hi @zav, I think that @marenew and @jlor might have some experience or information on mexiletine. I did share these articles that mention the drug in another discussion and might provide more information on the drug and treatment.

Thanks John! This thing is becoming more of a nightmare, although the back issues could be a big part of it, but not really a good candidate for surgery, or so says the neuro-surgeon. It is getting more painful in the legs causing difficulty in walking, and tragically, the quality of life is deteriorating to the point that I don't seem to have the desire to undertake much; pain is wicked. I used to be something of a rebel! No longer. LOL. Again, thanks so much. Will try the drug and see if it helps. A pity about Cymbalta, but the b/p results on two attempts were just too high.
