Anyone try mexiletine for neuropathy?
The latest suggestion from my neurologist. 150 mg per day with max 300 mg. Cleared by cardiologist because the drug has been traditionally used for heart issues.

Hi @zav, I think that @marenew and @jlor might have some experience or information on mexiletine. I did share these articles that mention the drug in another discussion and might provide more information on the drug and treatment.

Thanks John! This thing is becoming more of a nightmare, although the back issues could be a big part of it, but not really a good candidate for surgery, or so says the neuro-surgeon. It is getting more painful in the legs causing difficulty in walking, and tragically, the quality of life is deteriorating to the point that I don't seem to have the desire to undertake much; pain is wicked. I used to be something of a rebel! No longer. LOL. Again, thanks so much. Will try the drug and see if it helps. A pity about Cymbalta, but the b/p results on two attempts were just too high.
