Had diarrhea for well over a year.

Taking Slippery Elm which helped for a while But now diarrhea back again. Any suggestions? Other prescription medications, etc. do not work. BRAT diet is not effective either.

I don't have IBS but did start experiencing loose bowels after my second organ transplant. I had to stop almost all diary except real coffee creamer and an occational yogurt now. Plus I gave up eating almost all fruit. I used to love drinking a couple cups of milk and eating fresh fruit daily. After about 3 months things settled down to almost normal. Doctor said I most likely have developed lactose intolerance as I aged. I am 68 now and had my second liver transplant at 61. This is another story for another day.
