I take two ADHD medications for long Covid and both of them help *a lot*! Vyvanse and Guanfacine.

This is me. I started taking Vyvanse after finally getting diagnosed with ADHD. However, I had already told my doctor how severely fatigued and stuck I felt since contracting COVID in 2021. He informed me that many people are now being prescribed it for long-term fatigue caused by COVID.

Fast forward to the last two weeks. I just contracted the latest strain of COVID, and it’s ten times worse than anything I’ve experienced, including the initial few times. Vyvanse has no effect on me. I’ve been sweating and feeling incredibly uncomfortable since the second week of this. Initially, I thought I might be withdrawing or experiencing something else, but then I read about how many people who have had COVID are also experiencing this temperature issue.

All I want is to feel decent enough to function. I’m 36, but I feel like I’m 96. Today, I realized that my body wasn’t going to fight this off on its own. I’ve been prescribed Augmentin and prednisone. Current symptoms still: left ear feels plugged up with fluid from maybe a sinus infection and chest congestion that’s causing my asthma to flare up terribly.

I know about my preexisting issues. I’m HLA-B27 positive and get sick much harder than people with healthy immune systems. Hoping for some more guidance as I try to find a better doctor.. hope you’re doing well!
