The wait times to see specialists is nuts. I really lucked out. I have a new insurance plan that started on Jan 1, I called an osteoporosis specialy clinic on the 2nd, and got in on the 4th at 8 am. Where I live in the upper midwest, it turns out that 8 am tends to be the least preferd time slot in winter. I found my new doctor by searching for osteoporosis specific clinics, and doctors who specialize in osteoporosis. I found a specialty clinic that is on my plan, asked my PCP for a referal, and got the appointment. I have to drive a long way on rural roads to get there, but, for me, it's worth it.
