I forget to state that I took Gabapentin for pain beginning the second week of treatment and continuing for 6 to 8 weeks after. I initially thought I could forego any pain meds but was convinced by the social worker that other stubborn old men who tried that had regretted it when they had to take opioids later. I had little pain from the radiation and no real noticeable side effects from the Gabapentin as far as I could tell.
I had no abnormal blood readings during and after treatment but have developed kidney issues recently which I’m trying to get sorted.
