@daisysun I can understand your worries. Whenever we hear the word “cancer” that’s applied to us, most of us worry and panic. I have a few questions that will help me to figure out how to support you.

1. Why were these blood tests ordered? Were these done as part of a routine physical examination?

2. Are you having some symptoms that led you to make an appointment with your GP?

You have a very healthy lifestyle and that’s wonderful. I’d like to reassure you about something. There are many reasons other than cancer why blood tests show results that are “out of range”. Blood tests are only one part of a diagnostic process and the values are not 100% accurate. Why is this? Because there is always a degree of error in anything statistical. That degree of error can be due to many things such as human error (how the lab is run, who ran and analyzed your results) or lab equipment. This is why no medical provider will rely solely on blood tests. Blood tests are only one indicator and anything that looks out of range will hopefully be followed up by the doctor. Since your doctor made a referral to a liver specialist I hope you will get answers to why your blood tests show these results.

When is your appointment with the liver specialist? I hope it is very soon so that you can answers to your questions. In the meantime you can keep doing what you are already doing. Living a healthy lifestyle.

The blood test for tumour marker is part of the health screening package that I bought. No, I don't have any symptoms of any upper right abdomen pain at all. I went just for a normal health screening. I do have chronic gastritis and Gerd, therefore my pain is usually on my upper left abdomen but it's not a constant ache. It only happens occasionally. I do get heart palpitations and feel brain fog easily, and, I'm seeing a cardiologist now, will be doing echocardiogram and holter monitor to rule out any heart diseases.

I'm more worried because my liver function test, the bilirubin is high. 😔
