@kayanonsen, if I recall correctly you are also caring for your son who was in a motorcycle accident and your sister has cancer too. I wonder if some of the things you wish for, especially someone to come and check in on you and provide assistance like light housework or care would be possible. There's an organization called Breast Cancer Angels serving Southern California that may be able to direct you to such a service. Check them out here: https://www.breastcancerangels.org/

I would also talk to a social worker at your cancer center. They can help connect you to services that can take a load off here or there. Read more about oncology social work here:

How are you doing with the second round of chemo?

Hello and thanks for checking in on me. That is great information and I'll pursue all of these support groups. I wasn't aware of any of them and this is great stuff. My sister died in October, breast cancer metastasized to lungs and brain. I was diagnosed in September, so it's been a very tough time. My son lost his leg, and a lot of the use of his left hand, and his vision is now only 18%.
My brother was here for my second chemo treatment and that was great. He helped Ron to make a beef stroganoff in the slow cooker we got for Christmas.
My second chemo was better, I learned to go home and rest and eat small, cold meals. But day 3 I had to get the immune booster shot and it was the most awful thing, such incredible pain and violent vomiting. I'm still very weak and can only get up out of bed for a few minutes. That shot was on Monday. The oncologist said she will put a plan together for me.
I would love to get up and change my sheets and tidy my bedroom, and clean up the kitchen, but I am too weak. Maybe tomorrow. I am feeling better after sleeping all day today.
Thanks again for the info. I really appreciate it.
Kay
