Seeking Mayo Jacksonville Endocrinologist
I am returning to Mayo Jacksonville search for Endocrinologist for adult Type 1 on Tandem pump.
I did see an Endo about 10 years ago but was told after first visit I would only be seeing his nurse practitioner. That was not what I planned after going through months of new patient waiting and paperwork.
I have friends who say they always see their Endo at Mayo/Jax. I understand the occasional visit to nurse practitioner/PA as needed. Not always.
Have policies changed for Type 1 care at Mayo. The other fun fact is Medicare requires doc visits every 3 months for pump/insulin coverage.
I hesitate to go through new patient process after my last experience but always respected Mayo reputation. My cataracts were removed by excellent Mayo surgeon.
Any feedback on personable, caring Endo would be appreciated. Pump savvy a plus. I am not a novice at almost six decades of Type 1.

I’m 50+ years diabetic in Minnesota. I have access to Mayo in Rochester, MN. I am blessed to have a very good local healthcare system that I trust. My endocrinologist and two nurse practitioners are there. I use a Dexcom G6 continual glucose monitor (CGM) and an Omnipod 5 pump. I am seen at least quarterly. I alternate between one of the nurse practitioners and my endocrinologist. It sounds like you are between providers. Do you have a general practitioner that you trust who could recommend an endocrinologist to you and better yet make a referral?
Thanks for reply. I am hoping to get feedback on Jacksonville Endo department. You combo method of doc/nurse is not what I experienced here a few years ago.
I have seen Dr Jessica Wilson at Jacksonville
