Fasting - colorectal cancer stage III
Colorectal cancer stage 3 with 1 cancerous lymph node out of 17.
Is there anyone who opted out chemotherapy and doing fasting/vegan diet?
Thank you!

In same boat, low rectal tumor stage 3cn1 but no did not go that route. I have started radiation and Xeloda about 2 weeks in and tolerating it fine so far.
A vegan diet can do many wonderful things for our health, my diet is rich in fruits, vegetables, plant proteins. I believe it is helping normalize my bowel movements during this treatment and helps me with energy but reversing cancer that has spread to lymph nodes is not something that I believe that diet change can fix. Please pray/meditate on this potential treatment decision.
Hello. I’m a Dtage 2A survivor, almost four years out. I opted for surgery and follow up chemo. The chemo was recommended for 3 months (oxiliplatin and zeloda)
Are there reasons you are not willing to do chemo? Maybe there are questions others can answer? I really urge you to reconsider this choice. Stage 4 cancer is a likely outcome with no changes. Dietary changes will not cue cancer that is already there.
Also, reading through your prior posts, it sounds like you’ve gone the conservative route since your symptoms began in 2022. Now you are at Stage 3. That shows you how quickly the cancer is growing and with lymph involvement, it can get worse quickly. Please seek an oncologist recommendation.
Thank you for your comment.
I had a positive Cologuard in April, 2023. colonoscopy in May, 2023. The cancerous polyp with positive margin. Had another biopsy on the spot where cancerous polyp was found and it was clear in September, 2023. Then had a sigmoid resection in December, 2023. No cancer was found in the resected colon, but cancer was found in one lymph node among 17.
Now referred to an oncologist.
I read a book by Chris Wark and others. wondering if anyone opted out chemotherapy and took other treatments in this group. Chris Wark was diagnosed with Stage IIIc colon cancer who opted out chemotherapy.
I’m going to see an oncologist next week and decides what is best for me.
We have been told to eat only white rice, bread, no pulses, no vegetables with fibre. No cereals with fibre. I just cannot comprehend the logic
My husband was advised not to eat any fibrous fruit or vegetables, No pulses, no whole grain cereals Only white bread and to eat refined carb biscuits and cakes. I don’t see the logic I am astounded
It means you have to follow a low residue diet which helps having soft stool (no constipation, no diarrhea) that pass easily and avoiding gases. It makes treatment more tolerable.
@drbnue, how is your husband doing? Has staying about from fibrous fruit and vegetables and grains helped?
