IPMN cysts with dilated main pancreatic duct

Hi everyone
A year ago I was found to have 2 IPMN cysts on my pancreas both believed to be size branch with no worrisome features. I repeated MRI with secretin December 21 and the cysts are stable. My main pancreatic duct is dilated to 5mm. They now want to do an EUS to investigate this further. I have intermittent RUQ pain that I have had for more than 20 years after Gallbladder removal. I had an ERCP 2;years ago and developed pancreatitis post. Would this have caused the cysts? I am terrified that the dilation of the duct is a sign of cancer. Any information would be much appreciated!

in reply to @rvan8890 I have the same problem, with dilation of my bile ducts in my liver and pancreas, along with some small cysts. My hepatologist is not concerned, but has suggested the EUS along with some other procedures. Do you have a good gastroenterologist who can guide you? I have no idea what causes the cysts, and when I have asked the question, I received a "non answer." The dilation can be caused by a number of things, including autoimmune disorders, which have been ruled out in my case. The dilations have stabilized so I am not going to worry about it, even though one of the side effects is having zero appetite, and as a result I have lost 40 percent of my weight. I just eat when I feel like it or have to, like yesterday when I thought I was going to pass out after walking a mile. Go figure.

Thank you. I do have autoimmune diseases. They are wondering if I have autoimmune chronic pancreatitis. I see Gastro at Mayo in Rochester. They are wonderful! My EUS is scheduled for January 26th. Thanks for your insight!

in reply to @rvan8890 Please let us know how the test goes. My gastroenterologist removed me from his service because I filed a grievance against me as a result of him throwing me out of his exam room when I was in mid sentence challenging him over something.
